Details

This report focuses on how behavioural science can be used to support healthcare professionals to prescribe antibiotics in a way that aligns with antimicrobial stewardship strategy, including examples of the behavioural influences that affect antibiotic prescribing decisions.

It also examines existing interventions that aim to optimise antibiotic prescribing behaviour, and whether their content aligns with recommended intervention functions and behaviour change techniques (BCTs), based on the behavioural influences associated with prescribing decisions.
