Climate change has the potential to increase ground-level ozone concentrations. We must consider this change when assessing the risks of climate change overall.

The Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP) was requested by Public Health England to give an updated opinion on the quantification of health effects of ozone, for use in the 2nd National Climate Change Risk Assessment.

COMEAP formed a working group which reviewed the available evidence on appropriate concentration-response functions and drafted this report. The report is a combination of (i) recommendations and (ii) suggestions of a strategy for research to develop these recommendations further over time.
