Details

The British aquaculture industry was relatively new at the time of FAWC’s first review of the welfare of farmed fish. The report covers all farming processes from breeding through hatchery, ongrowing and killing and addresses issues of system design, animal husbandry, breed, transport and killing processes.

Recommendations are mainly for good practice in the industry, which should be followed by all fish farmers, but also includes calls for research and legislation when required.
