This document is a supplement to the update on the strategic outline business case (SOBC), which was published alongside the High Speed Rail (Crewe-Manchester) Bill deposit in January 2022.

It sets out the impacts of removing the Golborne Link on the analysis that underpinned the update on the SOBC.

The update on the SOBC continues to provide the most recent full appraisal of the case for the HS2 Phase 2b Western Leg scheme.
