Details

Following an incident where members of the public are contaminated with radioactive material, it is important to identify people quickly who may have inhaled or ingested sufficient material to require medical assessment. This guidance gives procedures for achieving this for 5 radionuclides using hand-held instruments. It also gives information on measurement sensitivity and analysis times applicable to a large screening programme using urine sample analysis.
