Details

Provides information on further education activity funded by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) for adult benefit claimants in England. It uses data from the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, the Department for Work and Pensions, and HM Revenue & Customs.

It provides new data for 2011 to 2012 and updates figures for 2008 to 2009 and 2010 to 2011 previously presented in developmental statistics.

It provides statistics on:

  • benefit spells with training
  • overall learners who were on benefits at the start of training
  • levels of qualification (all and highest) studied
  • type of provision

Note: the statistics and data files were updated on 29 July 2013 to correct a small error affecting tables 13, 14, 15 and 16.
