The latest net supply of housing statistics for England, produced by the Department for Communities and Local Government, were released under the auspices of the UK Statistics Authority on Thursday 13 November 2014.

The latest statistics report on net supply of housing up to the 2013 to 2014 financial year and update those previously released on 7 November 2013.

Key points from the latest release are:

  • annual housing supply in England amounted to 136,610 net additional dwellings in 2013 to 2014, a 10% increase in net additional dwellings from 2012 to 2013
  • the 136,610 net additions figure for 2013 to 2014 comprised 130,340 new build homes, 4,470 additional homes resulting from conversions, 12,520 additional homes resulting from change of use, 1,330 other gains and a loss of 12,060 homes through demolitions
