This publication includes estimates and commentary on:

  • trends in pensioners’ incomes (split by different pensioner groups)
  • sources of pensioners’ incomes
  • distribution of pensioners’ incomes

Data is based on estimates from the Family Resources Survey for financial year 2015/16, in which approximately 19,000 households were interviewed.

We’ve also published data tables in ODS spreadsheet format and a background information and methodology report.
