HS2 phase two exceptional hardship scheme
Have your say on the proposals to introduce an exceptional hardship scheme for phase two of the high speed rail project.
The government is consulting on proposals to introduce an exceptional hardship scheme for phase two of the high speed rail network for Britain.
The scheme would protect the interests of mainly residential and small business owner-occupiers whose property values may be affected by the initial preferred route, station and depot options for phase two of the network and who can demonstrate that they have a need to sell their property within the lifetime of the scheme.
The consultation ends on 29 April 2013.
While this consultation will be of most immediate interest to those owning property on, or adjacent to, the initial preferred route, station or depot options from the West Midlands to Leeds and Manchester and a Heathrow spur, responses would be welcome from anybody else with an interest in these proposals.
For more information about the exceptional hardship scheme or to have your say in the consultation visit the exceptional hardship scheme consultation website.
The exceptional hardship scheme consultation website contains:
- the HS2 phase two exceptional hardship scheme consultation document
- a leaflet about the proposed exceptional hardship scheme
- a note setting out the recommended route and station options for a link to Heathrow Airport, which also explains why the government proposes that owners of properties along this route can apply to the exceptional hardship scheme for phase two
