These documents set out the outcomes of the A47 and A12 corridor feasibility study.

The leaflet provides a simple overview of this study and its outcomes. The report provides more detail of our decisions following the study.

The study was carried out to identify opportunities and understand investment solutions for improving the A47 and A12 trunk road. The corridor runs for 115 miles from the west of Peterborough, through the Broads National Park, to the ports of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Peterborough and Norwich attract traffic along the route and there has been rapid growth in the area with more predicted in the future. This means congestion and delay for users, as well as a greater risk of accidents.

The results of the study informed our ‘Road investment strategy’ (RIS) and particularly the ‘RIS investment plan’.
