Details

These reports support the water and flood risk analysis in the consultation on the Airport Commission’s shortlisted options for additional airport capacity.

The ‘Baseline’ report considers how:

  • water quality
  • water quantity
  • flood risk

will develop in areas surrounding Heathrow and Gatwick in the absence of an airport scheme, over a 60 year period.

Two further reports examine:

  • the impacts of schemes on levels of water quantity and quality at the affected airport sites and environs
  • how the creation and operation of each scheme will affect flood risks for the airports and adjacent areas of flood plains
