Details

Defra introduced flood and coastal resilience partnership funding in 2011 and updated it in 2020.

The aim of the partnership funding policy is to allow FCERM projects to share the costs using national and local sources of funding.

Outcome measure 4 (OM4) supports FCERM projects that reduce the risks of flooding or coastal erosion and provide additional environmental benefits. It is made up of two separate outcomes - OM4a for hectares of habitats created or enhanced and OM4b for kilometres of rivers enhanced.

Use the guidance to understand the qualifying rules for OM4 and which environmental improvements are eligible. It includes a detailed description of each habitat type and associated conditions for OM4a, and each category of watercourse enhancement for OM4b. There are some examples that show these benefits in the partnership funding calculator 2020.

You should use this guidance alongside the calculate GIA funding for FCERM projects 2020 guidance and the partnership funding calculator 2020 for FCERM grant in aid.
